VILLA COCCODRILLA Toscolano Maderno
Architect designed waterfront villa with private dock, sleeps 8 in 3 bedrooms Villa Coccodrilla is directly on the lake with a private swimming dock and private beach, just minutes from the village of Bogliaco, the town of Gargnano and the city of Toscolano Maderno.  The villa is built snug right between the hill and the lakeside, its porches and terraces reaching right onto the beach. It sits on the edge of the lake like a satisfied crocodile, ready to slip into the water at a moments notice, and thus the name “Coccodrilla”.  The house was built  by the famous Belgian architect Leon Stynen , as his own personal vacation home, and it has been published in various journals.

The villa has stunning views, its a high exposure to the south east offers fabulous sunshine, as well as unforgettable views every time of the day and night.  Built right up against the lake's edge, when you look out of the windows you can see only the wide open scape of the lake and its far shores, much like if you were on a boat...or looking out of the eyes of a crocodile!

The property is on two levels, each a terrace built into the hill, so both levels are “ground” level, fully above ground.  The entrance to the top floor, from the porch, brings you into the panoramic living room, a dining area for 8 people and a new kitchen equipped with every comfort.  Also on this level there is a bathroom and a utility room. The kitchen has a door to outside, with a barbecue area built right into the rock of the cliff behind the house. The bedrooms are on the lower floor, and from here you can access the outside and the beautiful garden, the private pier for swimming and the  small private beach (when the lake is at low water – at high water the lake comes right up to lap against the villa outside areas ).   There is simple canoe available for guests use parked on the lake's side.
The villa is located on the main road just before Bogliaco, a small village that is part of the town of Garnano.  Though the villa is on the main road, the road is above, at the top of the hill, and the villa is nestled right down at the bottom of the hill by the lake, so your privacy is absolute and the road is not too noisy.  You can reach Bogliaco  in just a few minutes on foot (about 500 meters, but along the busy road so not a tranquil stroll), where you will find a couple of good bars for your morning capuccino as well as the restaurant “Allo Scoglio”, one of our absolute favourites for fish, with a lake front terrace and very child friendly.  Gargnano town centre is another 1.5km down the road, and here you will find a number of small shops, 2 micheline rated restaurants (Tartugha and Villa Feltrinelli) as well as a number of other excellent restaurants and pizzerias.  Here you will also find the lake garda ferry port, where you can catch a ferry to any other port on the lake.  In the other direction, about 5km down the road, you will find the city of Toscolano Maderno, a small city with all the services for the local villages and towns.  Here you will find the large supermarkets, many restaurants and pizzerias, a fantastic weekly market (thursday mornings), and another ferry port.
